After the swabs of people who might have Coronavirus arrive at Biolab, it will take 6 hours to get results.
RNA (DNA), that have the key information for Coronavirus infection, have to be extracted. That is really labor intensive procedure. It will take one hour just for that.
After RNA has been extracted from the patient’s swab, RNA is going to be in PCR device for 2 hours.
Even a trained lab worker can finish ONLY 30 cases at most per day. That’s why it is almost impossible to check thousands of swabs per day. But Japanese Government says they have the capability to check 3000 cases per day.
