MANSFIELD, MA — One person was airlifted with life-threatening injuries after an explosion caused a fire at a gas station and repair shop at the intersection of Route 106 and Hope Street. Witnesses told the Sun Chronicle the explosion at Cannan Fuels started when a truck caught fire in a service bay at the station.
The person injured was an employee at the gas station. Witnesses told reporters they saw the man was on fire as he ran from the burning building. The gas station owner and two other men had also gone into the building with a fire extinguisher to rescue him.
